New Tape Machine M 063 H6 from 2023!
After five years of production, it was time for a revision of the iconic M 063 H5. While outside almost everything remained the same, there is a whole series of innovations inside. The most significant changes are:
- Changed reel motors with software update
- New tape transport electronics with software update
- New tape tension scales mechanically more damped
- New stabilizing rollers left and right. The weight of the rollers was increased and the rubber surface could be omitted so that the smoothness could be improved still slightly.
- New VU meters with software update: The response time of the level meters could be shortened and the return time for active peak hold is now 3 sec. to -20 dB. The LED peak indicators now react at 0 dB in the first stage and at + 3 dB in the second stage.
- The audio electronics have been completely redesigned with new mainboards and new amplifiers. Each channel now has its own board and is according studio standard now. Erase and bias frequency has been lowered from 155 kHz to 132 kHz.
- New power supply with improved electromagnetic shielding

Technical Revision Tape Deck M 002 P
After 2 years on the market, the M 002 P has received a technical revision. The tape tension sensors have been changed, which are now more strongly damped against vibrations, the capstan motor, which now has a significantly higher rotational mass, and there is a completely new playback amplifier, which is now again located inside the machine. The changes are valid from 01.12.2022. More information can be found on the product page.

New Master Recorder M 051 MR
To respond to the growing demand for fully studio-standard master recorder, we will be offering the M 051 MR model from 2023. This machine has with a size of 645 mm x 525 mm the same format as the popular Telefunken M15a, but is based on completely new technology. This machine will be available as shown with 1/4″, but also in 1/2″ and 1″ as 2-channel stereo. The maximum reel size is 14″, making the M 051 MR almost the only machine that can be operated with this reel size. In our in-house studio, 6 of these machines are already performing reliably and we are pleased to be able to offer them to you next year.

New base for M 002 P for vertical operation
The sturdy frame is made of aluminum and gives the tape deck a safe and secure stand. In addition, the angle of tilt of 10 ° significantly improves the handling. The frame is included with delivery as of now and can be mounted in just a few easy steps.

New types and technical changes from autumn 2021
The M 063 H5 is now available with Capstan speeds 19/38/76 cm/s. In addition, the version with ½ -inch tape width and 2 tracks can be ordered now and will be available before the end of 2021. Just in time for the market launch, the model M 002 P is also available with a black aluminum housing. The wooden-look side panels are also available in black now.

2.75 mm track widths available from January 2020
We are glad to be able to offer the 2.75 mm track widths for the M 063 series since January 1st! The equipment package includes butterfly heads for recording and playback and a full-track erase head. Our partner, AM Belgium in Herenthout, Belgium, which has produced the magnetic heads for every well-known manufacturer in the past, has thoroughly revised the butterfly heads that have been produced unchanged for a lot of years and developed a completely new erase head with double gap and ferrite core for us. The M 063 HX / H5 tape recorder can now be ordered with this studio-standard configuration.

Hiermit geben wir unsere Kooperation mit RecordingTheMasters, dem weltweit führenden Hersteller für analoges Bandmaterial, im Bereich analog Audio/ Magnetbandtechnik bekannt.
RecordingTheMasters ist der Markenname für alle analogen Magnetbänder des französischen Herstellers Mulann Industries mit Sitz in Avranches (Normandie). Mulann stellt Magnetbänder für zwei verschiedene Märke her: Bandmaterial für den Audiomarkt und Magnetstreifen für die Karten- / Ticketingindustrie. Nicht nur für RecordingTheMasters ist die Beteiligung an der High End 2018 eine Premiere: Neben allen Bandsorten von RTM für die professionelle wie semiprofessionelle Anwendung, wird die Ballfinger M 063 H-Serie zur Markteinführung 2018 in verschiedenen Setups zu sehen und zu hören sein. Damit werden zum ersten Mal seit über 20 Jahren wieder neue Tonbandgeräte auf Messen gezeigt.

Neue Produkte von Ballfinger auf den Norddeutschen Hifi-Tagen 2017
Nach vier Jahren Entwicklungszeit ist es soweit: In einer Zeit, in der alles tonale und visuelle in ein Telefon passt und sich Vinyl wieder höchster Beliebtheit erfreut, stellt Ballfinger die erste neu entwickelte, analoge Tonbandmaschine seit rund 25 Jahren vor.
Im ersten Setup wird die M 063 mit ¼ Zoll Bandlauf in 2- Kanaltechnik (Stereo) zu sehen sein. Die Maschine kann mit bis zu 38 Zentimetern Bandgeschwindigkeit pro Sekunde betrieben werden und besitzt ein hochauflösendes, digitales Zählwerk mit allen dazugehörigen Funktionen. Das Gerät verfügt über symmetrische wie unsymmetrische Ein- und Ausgänge, lässt sich mit bis zu 30 cm großen Offenwickeln bestücken und passt in jedes 19 Zoll-Studiorack. Die M 063 ist damit der Anfang einer ganz neuen Generation von Magnetofonen.
Darüber hinaus zeigt Ballfinger den ersten Tangentialplattenspieler mit herkömmlichem Drehtonarm und gewohnter Bedienung. Der PS 2 wird von einem neu entwickelten, eisenlosen und elektronisch kommutierten Motor direkt angetrieben und verfügt über einen fast 5 Kg schwereren Aluminiumteller. Bestückt ist der Spieler mit einen hauseigenen MC Tonabnehmersystem in offener Aluminiumbauweise. Mit einer Reihe von Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten wird das Gerät sowohl mit puristisch manueller Bedienung und als Halbautomat gebaut. Der PS 2 stellt dabei den Anfang einer neuen Designlinie in High End Bereich dar.
